On Thursday, 24 children from Years 4, 5 and 6 spent an inspiring day with Nathan Timothy, the founder and CEO of The Songwriting Charity. Their mission was to create, write and record their very own Anti-Bullying and Kindness Anthem- and they absolutely rose to the challenge.

Throughout the day, the children worked incredibly hard and showed real creativity. They wrote thoughtful lyrics, composed melodies, chose musical sounds, sang, rapped, and even designed their own CD covers. Working in small groups, they collaborated brilliantly to craft their verses and then recorded them with excitement and confidence.

The final song is something truly unique to the children and to our school community. We are so proud of how well they worked together, their respect for one another, and the maturity shown in their powerful and compassionate lyrics.

On Friday, the rest of KS2 had the chance to listen to the finished track. Both children and staff loved it- so much so that they are already eager to learn and perform it themselves!
