We are really proud and happy to have won two awards at this year's Rainham Community Awards evening last night.

In recognition of the amazing poetry, art and DT work that the children produced as part of our Earth Week celebrations around the theme of ‘Our Power-Our Planet', we were judged winners of the Young Eco Creative School of the Year in the Primary Schools Category. In addition, Rory won 'best poem' in the primary school category - well done, Rory!

We achieved a 'Silver Certificate' in recognition of the work our gardening team has undertaken this year - well done everyone! We have lots of ideas of how we want to develop the school grounds to be more eco-friendly - so watch this space!

We are especially excited to have been awarded the Environment and Sustainability Shield, for the second year running. This is an amazing achievement, which recognises the passion and commitment the children have to understanding the fragility of our planet and finding ways to protect it. The judges were particularly impressed by our range of projects (recycling, gardening, litter-picking, 'walk-to-school' initiative, 'Butterfly-friendly Competition', energy-saving campaign ...) and also by the level of engagement across the school and our wider community.

Thank you to everyone who supports our projects as we look forward to another amazing eco-friendly year at Miers Court.
